Italia Conti is Britain’s oldest theatre training school. Established in 1911 it has, for over a hundred years, produced some our finest performers and has a worldwide reputation for training young people in the Performing Arts disciplines.
It grew out of the first production of the play that was to become a children’s classic “Where The Rainbow Ends”.
Italia Conti who was then an established actress was invited by the producer Charles Hawtrey to teach the children for the first production of ‘Where the Rainbow Ends’ which opened at the Savoy Theatre in 1911.
The Academy’s reputation is renowned throughout the World, and the request for the training it offers outstretched the commuting practicalities of just a London based centre.
Demand resulted in the Academy opening part-time Associate schools throughout the country.
The ITALIA CONTI ASSOCIATES PETERSFIELD SCHOOL was opened in 2018. Each Associate school is unique to its host community and we are delighted to use the excellent facilities of The Petersfield School to run
